is feeling OK
I'm a Christian middle-aged mother of two, who has been married 23 years. I have two awesome kids, a son 21, who recently graduated from a Bible College and a 22 year old daughter, who recently graduated from a discipleship program. My husband has been disabled since 11 months after we were married. His disability has created many challenges for my family. In my profession, I work full-time with multiply handicapped children at a school. I don't post much journal-wise. I mostly use discussion boards.
Hello, it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I just posted a question for advice or discussion in the Seizure support group. My …
Hope you're having a good weekend. Good wishes for you and your hubby.
Thanks...he is 9 years old, but developmentally he is only about 4 years old because of the seizures. It is all good. God is in control!!
Hi!! I too am a caregiver of a person with epilepsy...my son TBone. He has had epilepsy since he was 18 months and we have never had control. TBone has been on countless medicines and he has had 2 VNS surgeries. The first one was when he was only 4 years old and the 2nd one only this past February. TBone's seizures continue to get worse....more frequent, longer and more intense. He is scheduled for brain surgery, a Corpus Callosotomy, on May 8. I am scared to death, but also scared not to do the surgery. I too work full time and his father works out of town Monday - Friday. It is a very difficult life we lead, but we must stay strong for them. I hope you have a great week and would love to talk to you more.
Hope your hubby is feeling better soon. Have a good weekend.
Caregiver since 11 months after I married my husband when he began to have 30 min. seizures. I have 2 children, one 21 and one 22 and am currently working and caring for my husband who has been on SSD since they were little. I deal often with frustrations, though I have learned to be patient.
I'm joining this community mostly to be there for a friend in it, but I also lost my father a few months ago and really never had the chance to grieve because I'm maxed w/ my schedule and caregiving. I lost my mother when I was a teen. Didn't do well with that loss. Also lost an aunt and uncle this year and my best friend about 2 years ago.
Have a relative who had an eating disorder for about 7 years and was in bad shape. She's doing very well now. :) There is hope for healing!
Mu husband has seizures of all kinds. They often last up to 30 mins.
