So who actually reads my journals?
Hey guys,
First, thank you all SOO much for all the kind messages and hugs I got about my latest video journal (the one from Saturday Sep 1).
***********First, I wanna ask you all to
PLEASE READ this WHOLE THING
.
I know it's long, but it's the most important thing I've EVER EVER written, and it would mean a lot...I mean a LOT to me if you would read it. (That's what I meant when I typed that question at the top:))
I’m still getting messages from y’all asking about glyconutrients, and a lot of you have been asking similar questions. SOO…I thought it’d be cool to do my own (colorful!!!) mini-FAQ journal.
If you’re reading this and you HAVEN’T seen that video journal entry just yet, please take a quick look so you know what I’m talking about here. (If this were a commercial, it would probably say something cheesy like, “A five minute video, a LIFETIME of GREAT HEALTH!”)
But seriously, guys, take a look:
Betcha you’ll be glad you did.
A) Why don't we get enough glyconutrients?
First off, the reason we don't get adequate glyconutrients through our diets is directly related to the way our food--ALL our food--is grown and gathered.
See, the instant a plant (fruit, veggie, whatever) is picked, it begins to "eat" itself
. Because its source of food has just disappeared, it literally starts to consume its own nutrients.
Glyconutrients are the first to go. It starts turning them into sucrose. Then its starts consuming things like phytochemicals, etc. For instance, spinach, within 24 hours of being cut, uses up 90% of its nutrients. Plus most of our food is "green harvested" which means that it's harvested before it possesses most of its nutrients anyway.
Unless a) you own your own farm, b) you eat your food the same day you harvest it and c) your soil is fertile enough to enable adequate plant nutrients to begin with, you're probably not going to be getting adequate amounts of glyconutrients.
We only get enough (some of us) two
of the eight vital glyconutrients. We do sometimes get some of the other six, but in amounts way too low to have an impact on our health.
The reason folks in some (not all) other countries aren't prone to glyconutrient deficiency is because they pick and eat their foods the same day.
Make sense so far?:)

B) On to why most glyconutrient supplements are completely ineffective...
There is a process called GMPs:
Good Manufacturing Practices. All nutritional supplement manufactures SHOULD (ethically speaking) be using GMPs, but since they're not required by law to do it, they don't because it's more expensive.
When you use GMPs, you make sure that what you SAY is in the supplement actually IS in the supplement. For instance, multivitamins. They can say you get iron, vitamin c, etc., but they actually may not be in there at all.
Now, the FDA has finally realized that they need to crack down on companies who haven't been using GMPs, so in a few months, GMPs are going to be mandatory.
The ONLY glyconutrient supplier that uses GMPs (even though they didn't have to!:)) is Mannatech.
It's also important for nutrients to be bioavailable and not synthetic, and theirs are.
(And YES, to clear up any confusion, I did just start working there. And yep, I would earn points if you make the decision to try them. I'm not ashamed of that because I (along with Harvard med courses) truly believe it can help you.
I quit my job as a writer to work with glyconutrients. And if you saw my video, you know why.

C) Side effects
That's the really cool thing about this.
I was just watching "House" on TV, and in this episode "Wilson" remarks that "all drugs have side effects."

That's because all drugs are poison. When you take a drug, you are literally putting a highly toxic substance into your body. And only drugs "treat, cure, and mitigate" disease.
In fact, the FDA will literally only call something a drug if it is poisonous. If it's not and it can't hurt you, they name it a dietary supplement. Guess what category glyconutrients are in? :o)
Glyconutrients have been shown to be non-toxic at any level. Hence, no side effects!

D) Time
The time it takes for you to see improvements with glyconutrient supplementation varies INCREDIBLY from person to person. But the time it takes for them to WORK is: about a minute:)
For example: A lot of people have cancer for years and YEARS before they find out because they don't feel that anything's wrong with them. Sometimes your body can be doing something HUGE and you can be completely unaware of it. Just because you might not feel it, though, doesn't mean the cancer's not killing you.
On the bright side, it's the same way with glyconutrients, except...opposite:) Once your body starts getting them, it immediately goes to work functioning better. But the time it takes for you to notice that it's working better varies. See what I mean?:)
____________________________________________________________________________
E) Will it work for ME?
Don’t be afraid to ask this question. Heck, even I asked it. But then…I stopped. And I thought about WHY I was asking.
The truth was that I believed it could work for everyone else on the planet, but when it came to me…I’d always been the exception. If there was something proven to work with 99.99999999% of people, I’d always been that 0.000000001%. The truth was that even though this made perfect sense and could probably change my life, I was afraid to try.

F) The Moment of Truth
Well, let me put it this way: Do you WANT to feel better? Do you want to “get healthy”? Or as my best friend put it, “On a scale of one to ten, how important is it to you to feel better?”
For me, that was a ten.
Ever since I heard about this, I’ve been telling everybody I know. I’ve probably talked to at least 100 so far. Wanna know how many it’s “worked” for?
Four.
The other 96 never gave it a chance.
I have literally spent hours trying to convince my mom to try glyconutrients. Even offered to buy them for her. My grandma died of lung cancer while I was “deciding” whether to tell her about them. I will never forgive myself for that, and I could never forgive myself if I didn’t tell you guys in this (LONG) journal entry.
Most of my friends will read this and promise yourselves you’ll think about it. Later.
I will never hear from them.
See, the moment you finish reading this, you will have two options: (Psychic prediction coming up)
Either:
A) You’ll email me, or…
B) You won’t.
Most of you will go with “B”. because most of you will ask yourselves the same question I asked: “Will this work for me?” And most of you will stop there.
Guys, I know it’s scary. I know it’s hard to find the courage to try again. But if just ONE of you decides to email or message me, the two hours I spent doing this journal entry will be SOOO worth it.
So here it is: the Moment of Truth:
Will you be the one friend who makes this whole thing worth it?
Do you think that something they're teaching at HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL
could help you?
ARE YOU READY TO START FEELING BETTER???
Then EMAIL me! the_writer_gal '''@''' hotmail.com...RIGHT NOW!!!
Email me NOW!

Love you LOTS!
Alyssa
P.S. I’d especially recommend that those of y’all who’re pregnant or trying to conceive take this. Trust me: that would be a REEEAAALLLLLLY good idea.

Great journal! I have read about glyconutrients before and tried different products, but the main problem with me was absorbing them once they got inside me because of celiac disease and oxalate damage/intolerance--but I am certainly going to take a harder look at this once I get my gut healed better! Thank you for all the hard work in explaining this!! Btw--frozen foods are far better for you since they are frozen very soon after harvest if you don't grow your own or have a farmer's market nearby!
