Please make him better!

Hello,
A lot is happening in my life right now. All have very good POSSIBLE outcomes! Keep the prayers coming.
The new medication is working well...still! It isnt a "magic" pill, but is reducing my anxiety and rumninating. I am feeling mostly normal. There are days when I get triggered but they are few, maybe once every two weeks. I am on my fifth week of the med and am feeling better every day. The best part is the racing, angry thoughts, that were present all of the time, are absent most of the time. Even when angry, I am about a fifth as angry as I was before starting medication. I am able to concentrate on other things. Like cleaning my house and being normal with friends. I can talk about other things!
I have been ill for about 15 years. I always thought it was tracable to a bad root canal. Tests never showed anything, so I was left with a chonic infection of unknown origin, detectable by increased white blood cell count, almost constantly. i have been on antibiotics most of the time, during those years. Without them, I almost died.
A dentist finally found the infection, on x-ray. I think the fillm just got in deeper, as the infection is in my jaw...UNDER THE ROOT CANALS DONE 15 YEARS AGO!
I am so very happy to think I might be well...but frightened of a procedure involoving my jaw. Sometimes they must break it and then try to make it look right again. I see a Maxiofacial Surg thiis coming Friday and I dont know what is going to happen. I just hope I can be free of infection again one day.
I have learned to deal with the fatigue and discomfort. When one has a chronic condition, one cannot just stay in bed, that would have really depressed me. So, I have worked full time until the past few years and I "Act as If" most of the time, but am so tired. If I am able to get rid of this infection, my life and energy will be amazing. Does not solve all of the problems in my life but could give me the strength to do so.
Hang in there, life can get better!

i am thrilled for you - people don't realize it but our teeth affect so many parts of our bodies and how we feel - i know i had sinus headaches for probably 6 years straight, finally had them remove two molars that i could get uninfected even after root canals and i haven't had a sinus headace since - i am excited that you might actually find some relief. Sounds like things are going well. bless you always.

Thank goodness for modern medicine! Maybe between the meds and finally getting rid of this chronic infection...you will be able to see the positives in your life again...
I'm happy for you...hopefully the treatment will not be too tough.
Take care.
I'll be in touch!

Yes, I have known that the teeth and mouth can and do cause more problems than the medical professionals want to admit...
I once knew a man who had very bad teeth and he was forever sick... He finally died a few years ago at a young age... He was several years younger than I am...
I am so very glad that you did find the problem and I hope you will continue to heal... Maybe when you feel better, everything else in your life will also get better...
I will continue praying for you!!!

So what's the magic pill?

Oh my, Deb! Since the infection is in your jaw bone, I'm surprised they didn't want to give you IV (intravenous) antibiotics! Maybe the surgeon will! I wish you good luck and will check back in with you! I'm glad the magic pill is working, whatever it is -- it doesn't matter as long as it is good for you! :-) Love you! Lenora

B-4,
Good diagnostic skills! He mentioned intravenous antibiotics but wants to see results of CAT scan first. He is not certain that the infection meets criteria for IVA but will check. In the meantime, he suggested getting them surgically removed. I know it seems drastic but they are back teeth and no other procedure has gotten down to the infection. So, I am happy and looking forward to being well.
April,
Yes, I know that death can occur with untreated infections! I have been going to a dentist frequentlu for years and they redo the root canal and still infected! I take antibiotics when is acts up, which I am sure has saved my life.
Thanks
Carebear, Thanks, I can always depend on you to say the exact right thing. sounds like you had something similar. No headaches just fatigue and pain in jaw. I AM finding joy! such a miracle!
