Close Multiple Myeloma
I was diagnosed with MM on 5/17/2005. I have type IgG. I don't know what stage I'm in since I have been responding well to my treatment. My myeloma was discovered because my Dr had ordered a non-routine blood test (turned out his sister has MM).
Treatments
- Dexamethasone Working / Worked
- Don't respond well to Dex. I swell up (especially my face) and gain weight and feel terrible. Dr took me off after about 4 weeks
- Velcade Working / Worked
- Currently receiving. Responding well and my only side effect is fatigue
- Thalidomide Working / Worked
- First had 2006. Developed sun-sensitivity and taken off 7/3/06. IgG lowered from 3000's to about 1000 in about 4 months
