I divorced my husband of 30 years in 2003 and met my fiance just shortly before the divorce trial. We fell deeply in love and were happy until his ex-girlfriend's daughter (who he lived with for 9 years but never married)lied and accused him of molesting her. The jury didn't believe the kid enough to charge him with molestation so they gave him the stupid charge that is allowed in of ATTEMPTED sexual assault. I wonder just how many men are stuck in prison because of this. He is innocent and maintains his innocence and was penalized because of it. He got more time by maintaining this innocence than he would have had he pleaded guilty to something he didn't do. There is NO WAY to defend a sexual assault case in the US these days unless the kid admits she/he was lying. She has, to a friend, but will the judge believe it. It's all a nasty game!
Freeing my fiance so we can have a good life together, what's left of it. We've both aged considerably due to his conviction.

The jury didn't believe the kid enough to charge him with full sexual assault so they gave him the bullshit sentence of "ATTEMPTED" sexual assault. That lesser charge should not be allowed in a trial!
