Trust issues and Oil Wells Mood
Friday, May 9, 2008

Saw my counselor today, I hate to call him that.  He's an advisor, doesn't charge me for the time he spends with me (justs asks for a small donation for his organization..and lately he won't accept that), so I've begun to bring food to the office..not just for him, for the whole crew.  Today I call as I'm h eaded to his office and ask him "what kind of food would you like?".  Well they beat me to it...THEY bought today.  Anyway we got onto the subject of trust...and he gave me a slightly different view.  "Trust is not something you give to anyone on short notice, it has to be earned.  After it is earned it has to be maintained. If a total stranger walked up to you and said 'take me to the library and I'll give you $5.00', you would probably say no or make some excuse.  If some one you know asks 'can you take me to the library I can give you a little money for gas', it's a different story.".  He went on to say that if a stranger asked me for money for food, I'd probably not give it to them, I might point them in the direction of the local food pantry (which I do support)..but if a friend said "I'm short a cup of flour for a recipe, can you  spare some"..yeah I'd likely bring them the  bag of flour off my shelf!  So I asked him, "how will I know when to trust someone new"..and  he said "when you are ready to give him a bag of flour or a ride to the library!".  He's right, I have been WAY over analyzing this!

Oil Wells: was talking to a co worker as the packages came down the belt today.  I mentioned to her today how many new oil wells are being drilled (punched) along my route to work and how many there are all together.  She said that where she lives the same thing is going on.  We BOTH heard that US oil is being sold to China and that we are dependant on middle eastern oil....HOLD YOUR HORSES!  We each agreed to count the oil wells on our way home (just along our normal drive and only ones that can be seen from the road, then we will compare notes monday.  OK I take 5 Roads and 2 streets to get from my house to work...along those  5 roads...140 producing oil wells...of those 36 are brand new wells! Wells are being punched here and in Wyoming, at an alarming rate..so WHY are we paying nearly $3.40 for a gallon of gas?

It shouldn't be..at the rate wells in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska are pumping oil..we shouldn't be paying that price! Holes are being punched out here daily and new wells are producing. Out here they bury tanks as big as semi trucks...6, 8, 10 of them by each well..and the oil is pumped into them...the trucks come and drain off the tanks and drive off! Our oil is in the states I mentioned...and our "dipsticks" are in Washington DC!

It is all about the dollar L, the almighty Buck. It is 3.65 here. and calling for a 20 cent increase by the weeks end.

It is my understanding Weld County has the largest # of oil pumps in this state. They're everywhere...EXCELLANT question!

NO kidding aguy...you can't swing a dead cat here without hitting 10 or 13 or 20 of them...no reason we should be paying this price. I got the names off some of the wells and emailed the company "you are pulling oil out of the ground where I live, who do you sell it to?". I didn't even know these things were wells till about 3 months ago...I thought an oil well had to have a derek on it...now I know..those little tell take tan or silver tanks above ground and the vent pipe give them away. Many people have no clue how many oil wells are producing out here.
