    About Me

I am married with no children(childless by choice) and recently relocated to NorCal from Seattle Wa.** I am the proud "mama" of a 2 year old Rat Terrier/ Chi mix named Tiki. We got her at a shelter last Summer and she is adding much needed light to my life.** I would be an artist or illustrator if I could work. I pursue these interests when able and am trying to teach myself to make art on the computer and set up a home office and studio.** I enjoy science fiction, fantasy, and horror in film and literature as well as historical fiction. I am currently investigating Buddhism as my need for spirituality in my life grows. Often the subject matter of my art depicts these esoteric interests.** I joined DS since I couldn't find a "real life" support group and longed to connect with others on a deeper level. I am currently looking for good doctors, reliable info and emotional support.** I often use voice recognition software to limit my time keyboarding, so please be patient with me as I get better with it and excuse my bad typing when I don't. I sometimes blow hot and cold with my online social life so if I don't respond immediately, it means I'm experiencing technical difficulties, either my own or my computer's. :-)***I do not accept friends requests or respond to ppl who are: under 18, are in abusive relationships, are addicts or members of a mental health comm and in extreme crisis***Sorry can't deal with the drama**

    Interests

Art, Animals, Buddhism, Music and Theatre, Interior Design, Web/Graphic Design, Home Improvement, Science, Nature, Philosophy, Mythology, Travel(if I could), Anthropology, Archeaology, World History and World Religions. I'm a voracious reader of these topics and a Scifi/Fantasy/Horror fan. I'm also a PBS/History/ Discovery Channel and HGTV junkie. :-) Yeah, I have lots of spare time to read and watch TV thanks to CFIDs and Fibro

Thanks for the encouragement Shell! I'm glad it's motivating to other people. I was yo-yo-ing for for a while there and not sure if I was ever going to make it! If it's motivating others, well that's just a great side-effect that I didn't anticipate! I'll be here to root you on if you do it! Hope your air is getting better! Love ya! Beverly :)

      From Michelletj Yesterday

The first time one of those psycho, destructive, little hellions crawls into your lap, looks up at you with those big eyes, and purrs like a motor...you're toast. You're done. They have adopted you, and they will never let you forget it. When it suits them, of course. =8-)

    • Hug

      From Brenda9 Yesterday

Well it sure feels like Hell to me! But, I know you are in a much hotter place and you are surrounded by fires, and having trouble breathing... I so feel for you! It's GREAT in the house with the AC... absolutely fantastic. The thing is, you forget and go outside and almost pass out from the heat! It gets up to 42 or 44 here regularly... I'm just never out in it! (My momma didn't raise no dummies.) I'm glad the Vicodin thing won't be a problem. Have a great weekend! And thanks for all the support with the comments you leave on my journal - just love ya Shell!

    • Close Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I've been ill most of my life and been to several specialists and had just about every test done imaginable. I was never given a diagnosis of CFIDs until about 2 years ago after finding a clinic in Wa that specializes in treating it. Now, I am looking for new doctors in a new state. Doctors who understand Epstein Barr and are up on current treatments. I don't want to ride the "specialist train" again but would consider seeing a counselor who deals with chronic illness.

      Treatments

      Ambien Working / Worked
Ambien helped for while, no longer as effective. Switched to Lunesta.
