Our sweet little girl Bella has not been feeling very well as of late - we don't have any kids and she is a very important part of our little family.  A couple of weeks ago we took her to the ER for vomiting, but all tests showed she was ok, so we changed her diet and that seemed to work.  However, she's been increasingly panting for a while (I mentioned it at the last visit but they were not too worried, but today she was panting a lot more, seemed to have trouble breathing, and was very lethargic.  We took her back to the ER and they said she needs an abdominal ultrasound and they cannot do it until tomorrow.  She yelped every time her belly was touched, so I am very concerned about this.  She is an older dog - she was older when we got her, but she has always been so spirited, alert, and energetic and it was hard to see her like this today - she's still eating and drinking normally, so that's good, but I am nervous about the ultrasound results.  We were supposed to go out of town this weekend for our big bike ride, but depending on what happens we might not go. 

Please say a little prayer for our sweet girl, and I'll post again when I have more news.  I am very bonded with her, and I know not all who are reading this have that type of bond with their animals, but she is such a joy to me, a sweet little unexpected gift that came into our lives two years ago - so many things in life I have experienced with and because of her.....
