About Me
I am a 33 yr old, mother of three. I was an active, sucessful hospice/homecare private nurse untill last year. When I got pregnat with my last child, Istarted noticing extreme back pain. I was the worst pregnacy ever, but remains a gift from God. After the birth, I was taking perocet for the c-sec. The pain was life altering and the dr. said it was a prolapsed disk. I stayed on meds for 2 yrs and continued to work. I finally gave in and had surgery 2/2006. Now I am not sure if I can go on
Interests
I used to enjoy riding 4 wheelers, camping, sitting in a hot tub at night in the fall or winter outside on the beach feeling the sea mist spray on me. I love the mountains and enjoy hicking and nature. I am a earthy person but hate the hot humid air of NC. I dream of visiting Colorado and Montana oneday. I like fictional books with settings in these westurn states around 1800's. I like fishing with the hubby in the morning or late at night. I like PJ's with raining days and movies. I love a nice fire in the fire place in the winter and love the occational snow winter brings. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I beleive in Jesus and think everything that happens is part of his plan & has purpose. I also belive in karma and doing the "right thing." I think everyone we meet has something to offer or something to recive to make one more whole.

HI, I am sooooo sorry I have not talked to you since you sent me the wonderful care package at the hospital. You will never know how much it meant to have in a sense a stranger to send me such lovely & toughtful things. I'd like to say things are going well it was for the first 3wks or so I stood up and my right knee felt like it exploded since then both knee's have gone down hill to the point I can hardly walk on the right one. I'm almost positive I am getting frozen shoulder in my right arm and my back still hurts. Isn't it nice to get a nice and cheerful hug lol. I see my surgeon on the 31st so hopefully he will order a ct scan as it really feels as though it hassss come loose. Ok enough complaining. Other than the pain all is great. My puppies Gino 6mn shih Tzu & Louie my 2yr old Maltese keep me laughing all day. My hubby for the most part is my rock. It is hard not to crumple sometimes as he has to pick up all the slck plus work full time. He's the best. How is your hubby doing? how is your pain? Is your back any better, if not do you have any plans tohave testa done on it? I hope this finds you happy and smilin. please write soon. I miss talkin with you. Hi ncnur, I'm David and I read your comment on Have Your Say! Chronic Back Pain & Emotion in the Back Pain group. I must say, you put into words the feeling I have had. My wife and I have discussed many times how different I am today compared to 10 years ago when my pain journey started. Thanks for your words because it puts my thoughts into words, even it they are really yours. And as a retired military man, having your husband back home will be such a joy. And since you've had pain issues before he left, you don't have to deal with relearning each other over again. Best of luck to you and yours, david

I have been sexually abuse my entire life. I have just this year sought counsling. my uncle, my brother, a niehgbor's son...and last but not least I married a man who had his way with me from age 11 to 26 when I divorced him.

Type: Clinical (Major) Depressioni have always been one who was never really happy..just content. i have been labled clinically depressed because of the way my back aliment has affected my life.

- it helps i guess but i want to address the cause of my back pain. i think it will stop most of the depression and hopelessness. it is also wide spread in my family tree

Open Smoking Addiction & Recovery
I am 33. A nurse that has not worked in a year due to back problems. I have smoked since age 12 and have never stopped. Iam taking chantix and am 12 post op from a 4 level spinal fusion. I am on week 3 of chantix. Still smoking a lot, I am in a lot of pain.
