My journal entries are slowing down - as my days fill up. We has a great weekend but I am just bushed today. It was my birthday on Friday and I had alot to celebrate I figured. So - I went to lunch with a friend on Friday - it was a beautiful day and we went to a place that over looks the harbour. While we ate lunch a beautiful bald eagle flew right by the window. It was so close I could see his little eagle feet tucked close to his body. Just a splendid sight. The sun sparkling on the sailboats in the bay, people were strolling below on the beach and we sat and laughed and chatted for a couple of hours. Later, The the family took me to a wonderful Italian restaurant downtown for dinner. Fantastic food and a lovely little place. I even got lots of wonderful gifts. My youngest painstakingly crafted a lovely certificate for me and some home made coffee and hugs coupons. My eldest presented me with a wonderful picture of both girls in a beautiful frame she found at an art shop. My hubby gave me a bracelet I had admired weeks ago. I had such a wonderful time.
We went to a party on Saturday night and it was wonderful to meet so many new people. Makes you realize how small your world can get when you don't put yourself out there much anymore. I was really glad I don't smoke anymore so I spent time wandering around chatting to people instead of spending most of the night outside puffing away.
We had some friends over for dinner last night. We had a great visit, but I was starting to fade at about 7:30. I am pleased to say I managed to kick my shoes off before I collapsed into bed at 9:30.
Now we are back in the weekly race and I am dragging my butt from chore to chore. Can't party like a rock star any more :)
Regardless of how many things I did this weekend - I just kept thinking how happy I am just to be on the planet. I have had friends who didn't make it this far - so I'm just pleased to get up feeling tired.

My, my, you are quite the social butterfly lately. Sounds like a wonderful birthday. Glad you got to have such a nice day and the weekend sounds like fun too.
