About Me
I have a BK amputation of my left leg due to complications from diabetes. I had 23 yrs with the Chicago Fire Department. Now Im living in Florida. Got my prosthesis in March 07. Im doing so much more than I ever thought would be possible! Physical therapy helped me a lot. Do your exercises. Its a challenge but it can be overcome. Concentration and attitude are the main things.
Interests
I love talk radio, EBAY, watching trains, and White Castle!! Im a huge Chicago Bears fan. I am into model railroading (HO scale).. My 3 dogs keep me busy. I love to take them for walks now! Send me a message if you'd like to talk.

I'M FINE AS FROGS HAIR. LOL! I DEFINATELY AM BEING PATIENT LIKE YOU SAID. IT'LL BE SO NICE TO BE UP WALKING AGAIN. WHEN THEY RE-AMPUTATED MY LEG THEY TOOK OUT THE BONE BRIDGE, SCREWS & ALOT OF BEGNINE TUMORS, SO ITS BOUND TO DO BETTER THIS TIME AROUND. I HAD MRI'S DONE LAST WEEK & THEY FOUND TWO BULGING DISCS, ONE IN MY NECK & ONE IN MY LOW BACK. THE ONE IN MY BACK IS BAD. THEY ALSO FOUND A TEAR IN MY GOOD KNEE & ITS GOT FLUID AROUND IT, BUT I'M NOT GOING TO LET THAT BOG ME DOWN. I'M PRESSING ON, BUT W/ CAUTION. I'LL FIND OUT MORE TUESDAY WHEN I SEE MY ORTHO. YOU TAKE CARE & GIVE SHARON MY LOVE.

I had a BK amputation of my left leg in Jan 07, due to circulation problems from diabetes. I got my prosthesis in March 07 now trying to get back to normal. Would like to hear from others.

Close Heart Attack
Had a heart attack in spring 06. Being treated with drugs and exercise along with weight loss. Starting a new treatment in Aug 07 called ECP to open up new arteries and increase blood flow to the heart
