We are, thankfully, 2 states north of the firecanes and devastation. Tuesday was almost 80 degrees and when I got off work, Hubby (Bear) and I worked in the yard for a few hours and I was in shorts and a tank top. Wednesday was 50 degrees and it rained ALL DAMN DAY! I have a raincoat with a hood that goes almost down to the ground (think ankle-length on a 5'4" frame) and by the time I got home I was just about soaked through and my black jeans were in the same condition about up to my knees! Thursday (yesterday) was clear, bright and ffffffrrrrreeeeeezzzzzzing! I'm thinking that God is busy in California and so we are all wonkey in Washington!
There is a good chance that Bear and I (IF AND ONLY IF we can work out all the details) will be driving across the country from home here in WA. down to the company offices in Atlanta. They are pretty much done for the season and the truck with trailer has to be returned until the season starts up again. He can't drive it by himself (sleeping at the wheel is an issue), will get paid for the drive and the company will pick-up all the gas, food and hotel stays (trucking laws state that he cannot drive more than a certain amount of hours or miles per day whichever comes first) so almost all of our expenses will be picked up. Needless to say, he makes more money per day than I do (about 3X more!) so we'll actually make more money by taking the trip than we would if we didn't and I worked every day. Plus, the company will fly him back and he has so many free air-miles that I can fly free as well. My biggest concern is that we can work the schedule out with my Sugarpuss and her Mom because there are days that I have her which may not be negotiable. Also, I'm very concerned about the mental condition of Her Royal Highness Penelope who gets positively apoplectic when we leave her. Naturally, we have a house/critter sitter that we love and trust (one of my nephews) or we wouldn't even consider it. But I'm going to take her to good Dr Maas (who was so wonderful to Molly and I) to see if he can her "royal" pain in the --- some xanax, or prozac or thorazine!...........
Anyway, IF we can work out all the details and IF we do this, I'm going to get a new battery and some extra memory for the laptop so I can bring it along and blog our journey...............
Here's hoping!...............................Â
