The California Supreme Court ruled today that the right to marry is constitutionally mandated regardless of sexual preference. I'm a Cali girl (and lesbian) and it's so exciting! We finally have one step closer to full equal rights. Granted I'm only 18 and won't be taking advantage of this any time soon, but it's still exciting. And this is the first thing in a long time that's pulled me out of myself and my problems. It renews my hope. This week the Israel-Palistine has come to my own front yard. Apparently this week was Israel's 60th Birthday. The Israeli club has had a booth in the quad. Yesterday a Palistine club of some sort had a booth protesting, today they were right up in their faces, chanting, waving flags and signs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking sides, the Israel club waved flags back. Police were there. Anyways, my point- part of me has been afraid that Gay rights would always be that way. But now, we're making strides forward. I don't know, maybe I'm being weird, but, um, ok I took too long to write this and lost my train of thought. Anyways, this ruling has given me a little bit of hope and made me feel like sometimes good things do happen.
