About Me
wow! So I just went over the hill and turned 40! Married. 2 dogs. Graphic Designer. Fibromyalgia diagnosis 9-2006 while in a depressive crash. My 2nd major one in 7 years. High-stress job with people who don't play nice most of the time. Two-thirds of the group are high maintenance people with big egos who need constant attention. I don't work that way. And I need to reduce stress in my life and learn to love myself and accept me for me. I really need to learn a life habit of putting my health before other stuff, like work.
Interests
All things Mac. Puzzles & games. Scrabble is my #1 game, then Chinese Checkers... Suduko is nice for the math challenged, like me. PlayBabble.com is a fun game.

Close Fibromyalgia
Diagnosed Sept 06 during a major depressive crash that started May 06. I hurt all over with shoulders & hips hurting more most days.
Treatments
- Heat Working / Worked
- Heating pads help ease pain. Intolerant to cold/drafts.
- Sleep Working / Worked
- Most times, taking a nap (ends up to be 4-5 hrs) helps reduce pain. Also helps my mood too. It doesn't help for staying a schedule for sleep (w/o meds).
- Acupuncture Working / Worked

Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionFirst major crash May 1999. Second major crash May 2006. What's with the month of May? I also developed Fibromyalgia with this crash. Now there's the mental pain with a whole bunch of physical pain.

- I am maxing out this drug at 450mg/daily.
- Paxil Working / Worked
- Taking (I can't remember the dosage) this. Never been on this one before. Not sure I am on the right combination of meds yet.

Open Stress Management
I think I have only experienced full relaxation a few times in my life. I seem to always be thinking & figuring out stuff in my head. Grew up in the environment of work first, play when done...I am never done with work, chores around house, bills, whatever. I remember being at ease on my wedding/honeymoon cruise 4+ yrs ago, but don't think I have since. High stress job with high maintenance co-workers doesn't help. I feel like I am viewed as lazy when I relax or take breaks at work.

- This works if I do it - and keep up with it. My problem is I let the deadline dictate my actions for the day. I have a very difficult time placing my needs above the job.

Open Chronic Pain
Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia Sept 06. Chronic pain throughout whole body. Shoulder & hips are most severe. It is a daily grind of office stress & busy life that seems to just make it worse. Trying to break some old bad habits.
