      I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 14 and have lived with this disability for 36 years. My parents ignored the problem as I was perfect in their eyes. Not a day goes by that I don't think about my scoliosis. I constantly worry that someone might be able to tell that my back is different. I am ashamed to tell anyone--only my family knows to this day. What to wear is always a battle as I cannot wear anything too fitting. My pain is getting worse and am considering surgery.
