About Me

I am 42 years old. I was diagnosed at age 39 with Stage IIIC Ovarian Cancer November 2004. Had 6 treatments of taxol and carbo. ca125 went down to 7. was in remission until June 2006 was diagnosed with Stage I Breast Cancer. Had double mastectomy and 4 chemo treatments A/C. had reconstruction. final implants put in Feb 2007. In April 2007 was diagnosed again with recurring ovarian cancer on lower outer colon. Was detected by 3 month PET Scan. Had 1st treatment May 10, 2007 Taxol and carbo again. next one May 31 2007. had reaction to carbo. then switched to taxol and cisplatin. It worked for a few months. I entered a clinical trial at Dana Farber Cancer Institute Nov 07 until Jan 08. Did not quite work. Came back to home to Florida and started Doxil for about 4 or 5 treatments. that didn't quite work so I start Avastin and oral cytoxin April 9, 2008. (let's hope and pray this works!) I am married to my wonderful husband Victor who is my Rock. I have a shitsu whos name is Bella. She is the best dog. I have no children of my own but I have 5 beautiful step daughters who live up north. I love the beach and collecting shells. I am originally from Rhode Island. I havent worked since November 2004. My husband is a retired Fire Chief from our town in RI. I am currently on disability. I moved to FL in Sept 2005. I love it here. In reality I probably don't have much time left here on earth but I am willing to fight as hard as I can. It's been so difficult. Not feeling well most of the time really takes a toll on me. all I can do is fight a littler harder and take one day at a time for now.

Interests

I love the beach and collecting shells, my family, spending time with my husband and my dog Bella every day.
