About Me
Hello there everyone~ About me: I am a 38 year old female from Boston, MA. USA .I just celebrated a year of marriage in september of 2007 and I have no children. I was turned on to this community and it makes me feel good. This is the first time I've ever done online communities and chats and stuff. Through research of my own, I've discovered that this type of thing helps. Especially for those with psychological/medical/physical/ and spiritual issues. I used to be a counselor/teacher for teenagers with emotional disturbances. Due to issues of my own, I had to leave the profession for a bit. Close Bipolar Disorder
I have bipolar disorder and alcoholism. I wanted to join a community and thought this would be an appropriate one for me since emotional pain is my domain. Anyway, that's my story. Please write if you want to talk. Lola694***
Treatments
- Abilify Working / Worked
- to replace the zyprexa as an anti-psychotic/mood stabilizer.not sure of the efficacy of this med as it is still being worked into my med "cocktail". been on it for quite a while and it's supposed to be working for me now(when mixed with other meds).i wouldnt knock this med b/c its better than some of the older 'mood stabilizers".
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- Hellacious side effects for long periods of time.This med continues to be increased for me and I am almost maxed out at the level i am on. this med used to work for me but once again the right 'Cocktail" still needs to be found but i am completely over this med altho i continue taking it!!!
- Music Working / Worked
- without music, life would be a mistake, No side effects just good old tunes to help your mind, body and soul!!!
- Wellbutrin Too Soon to Tell
- Recently added to the 'ol med "cocktail".Hasnt been in my system long enuf to tell but i have a few good days mixed in with mostly bad days.We'll se what happens.A lifesaver for alot of people that I know!
Close Alcoholism
My name is Lola...I'm an alcoholic. Been sober for 23months on January.4 of 2008.It feels better not to drink anymore but the craving is still there. I belong to this community and also belong to the Bipolar community. peace and love to all.
Treatments
- AA Meetings Somewhat Helpful
- went to a few meetings and truly believe in the 12 step program yet i have done better with individual counseling with an addictions specialist. no physical side effects from A.A. but it definitely stirs up emotions that could be considered psychological side effects yet that is only my opinion.
- Willpower Working / Worked
- doing the best i can one day at a time. Having strong feelings about pouring poison into my body. It helps me stay strong. i have enough willpower to keep alcohol in the house in the cabinet easily accessible. People say to get rid of all your booze but it keeps me sober to have it around cuz it reminds me of how bad things are and will get again if i decide to drink.
