This is an update (treatment with Low Dose Naltrexone) that I sent to the Yahoo Health Group:

Update:  4 ½ mos w/Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) - 30 yrs w/Crohn’s

I just got back from a follow up appt. with my GI today.  He seemed very interested that LDN is working so well for me!  He even asked me if I was ready to “go National” with it or use me as the subject of a medical journal report (or something like that)….which I excitedly accepted!  I told him I wanted others to benefit from LDN as I have and I am willing to speak publically about it!  I am not sure if he was serious about it or not….but I will bring it up again on my next visit (he has been interviewed by our local TV news several times in the past to discuss bowel disease.)  Maybe he is interested in speaking out on behalf of LDN?  I will be willing to “team up” with him in an effort to get the word out!  I reminded him that I have been sick for 30 years and I told him that I don’t recall feeling this well before, thanks to LDN!

I am scheduled for testing in early August to compare to “before” LDN and I will give you an update after the results are in.  He mentioned that I have a “stricture disease” (high risk of stricture) and he wants to continue to monitor me.  I told him that I felt the need to strongly encourage him to help others with LDN!  He said that since he put me on LDN (4 months ago) he has a few other patients on it, and is waiting for feedback from them.  He also asked me which compounding pharmacy I use (which is Skip’s), how much it costs (about $25.00/mo including shipping), and I left him a copy of the www.ldninfo.org website.  I am thinking that he is “on board” with LDN!

My Stats:

Blood pressure:  within points (about the same)

Weight:  Lost 2 lbs. (I lost 7 lbs. in the first month or 2 but gained 5 lbs back)

Side effects:  minimal (detailed dreams)

Pain:  Gone

Inflammation:  Gone

Diarrhea:  2 – 3 times (average) per day (due to poor choices – diet/alcohol)

Attitude in general:  Elated!

Protocol:

4.5 mg Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) between 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
B-12 injection (1/cc mo since surgery Dec. 2002)

Probiotics
BodyHealth Complete (multi-vitamin/supplement)
DL PHENYLALANINE 500 MG (DLPA)

Garlic oil (gelcap)

Aloe Juice (for 1 week – will need to get more)

I guess that is all for now!  I wish you all well!

Kindly,

Patti
