I injured my back in 1996 trying to prevent a pt. from falling. I'm a nurse.
Treatments
- Cortisone (Injection) Somewhat Helpful
- worked but, only for 1-2 weeks...caused many problems with my insulin dependent diabetes
- Darvon Not Working
- Did not help me at all.
- Epidural Injection Considering
- had several and it gave relief for about a week and that was it
- Fentanyl Not Working
- Too strong..knocked me out!
- Fioricet Not Working
- did not work for my pain
- Hydrocodone Considering
- works for pain but, does not last
- Ibuprofen Working / Worked
- Yes,this does help with arthritis
- Physical Therapy Not Working
- This did not even touch my pain..seemed to aggravate it
- Spinal Cord Stimulator Not Working
- This device has malfunctioned inside of me and it can only be fixed by surgery. When it was functioning it was too positional and only helped leg/feet pain with sciatica.
Open Diabetes Type 1
I am a 43 y.o. brittle Juv.Insulin Depend. Diabetic. I was diagnosed at age 17 when I was rushed to the hospital with a 600 glucose and in Ketoacidosis. I woke up in ICU and was told that I am going to have to take insulin b/c I was a diabetic. I did not care about shots all I wanted was to feel better. I was in ICU for 5 days and unable to see. Thank god I got my vision back with no optic nerve damage. I went throgh a honeymoon period (6 mo.) at age 19. Eventually became a nurse/dibetic teacher.
Treatments
Open Hypothyroidism
A year ago I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I was started on Synthroid and still trying to get normal lab results.
Treatments
- Synthroid Not Working
- My TSH levels are still out of normal range. The doctor keeps increasing my dose. I'm still waiting for it to work.
