    I am a fifth grade teacher, married with no children, and two adorable kitties. My husband and I are both only children. My mother is in a long term care facility after falling, breaking a hip, having colon cancer, and (to top it all of) has severe COPD after smokng for 60 years.

      Mom is in a long term care facility after falling, breaking a hip, having colon cancer, and severe COPD. It has been a blessing putting her in - I am an only child and my husband and I couldn't take care of her. Now I can focus on getting my life back together! 2 years of takng care of her has taken a huge toll.
