      My brother is bipolar. Hoping to find a way to help him and also help my family cope.

      Diagnosed when I was eighteen. Under control now thanks to meds (Zoloft).

      Treatments

      Desipramine Not Working
      Was on Imipramine the first time and Desipramine the second time. Worked at first but after a while it didn't seem to make a difference. Long time ago now.
      Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
      My first therapist was great. Subsequent ones not so good. Not currently in therapy.
      Zoloft Working / Worked
      It's been a year and has made a huge difference. No more crying every day. No more hopelessness about the future.
      Orap Not Working
      Anti-psychotic! Combined with imipramine (which is, according to the prescribing lit, dangerous) made me a zombie.
