I'm a 26yr old Australian living in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. I am a Registered Nurse who has recently made the move from the city to the country for a change and a new start at life with my fiance. I also enjoy music and singing in my spare time. I am here for support and opinions in regards to childhood sexual abuse.
Interests
Music, Photography, Weddings (I'm getting married in a few months), Animals - I have an Australian Border Collie dog, a Siamese cross cat, and a Russian Blue kitten.

Support Groups
Close Sexual Abuse
I was sexually abused by my father from the age of 3 to 12, and i was abused by my uncle. I was also sexually abused by one of my mothers boyfriends when i was a teenager, but that ended quick and he was the first one i came clean about. My brother was also sexually abused by our father.
Treatments
- Abuse Counseling Not Working
- My Psych wasn't all that helpful to me. Whilst I appreciated talking to her about my experiences, i feel that it didn't really help me. Works for some though.
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Love my friends and family.
- Writing Working / Worked
- I sometimes have weird dreams about my experiences and i find that writing down those dreams when i wake up really helps. I can go back and reflect on those dreams.
Close Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
I stated menstruation at the age of 15 and ever since I have had painful irregular periods. I was diagnosed in 2002 with PCOS, and have been hospitalised many times with pain.
Treatments
- Depo-Provera Somewhat Helpful
- Metformin Not Working
- Oral Contraceptives Not Working
- I ended up with a Pulmonary Embolis from years of taking o.c's
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI have struggled with Depression, in particular Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, since I was a young child. I needed to come to a place within myself to overcome many of the triggers of my depression.
Treatments
- Luvox Working / Worked
- Weaned myself off it about a year ago and I've been great.
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- It was useful but not really for me.
- Tofranil Somewhat Helpful
- I was on this drug for years and i found it didn't work as well as the Luvox.

Open Sexually Transmitted Diseases - Female
Type: Genital Warts (HPV)My father sexually abused me for 9 yrs, and today i finally plucked up the courage to get a pap smear and pelvic done before my wedding, and it turns out he has given me an STD. Am going to get investigated soon as soon as i get over the shock and intense anger i feel at the moment.
