I talk to my cats all the time! Most of the time frost just looks at me condescendingly, but the other babies give me affection =) If you're nuts, may we all be so lucky. If my babies could talk I'd be over the moon!

I think when you are ready you should get another cat. I think you just need someone(?) to fill the gap your cat left. You will know when it is the time, and the cat or kitten will know when you are the one! Just go to one of the adoptions that Petco (or other pet stores have) or a shelter and "just look". The right one will find you. And if it ends up being a mouse instead, well.....my cousins grew up with white rats for pets, and they loved them....I thought they were cute, too. So, it is all in how you look at it..... smiles
