Gee I haven't written in this for months!!!!!!!!!!! Mood
Thursday, April 17, 2008 | A General Update story

Where do I start? I just returned from going to "brown bag" where the Utah

Food Bank gives out food twice a day.....Today was 5# of potatoes,

an english cucumber, 3 Big grapefruit, and 2 tubs of cottage cheese.  It

helps you make ends meet the way groceries are getting higher priced so fast!

I hate to say what happened to my eyes. It sure makes me feel dumb!

I take 3 drops a day of plain artifical tears, and then at nite another

kind of drops for my glacoma pressure.  It happened at 8 in the am

and I was drousy and reached up on my beds headboard and instead

of the artificial tears got the "swimmers ear" (95% alcohol and some other

chemicals in it) and in my eye it went.  Wow I didn't think I could jump

out of bed that fast! I couldn't see and thank goodness my best friend

called, so she came upstairs to help me. I didn't want to go to the hospital

as you have to wait soooooo many hours there. My friend got the magnifying glass and knew what was in it and called the poisen control.

He said to wash my eye out for 15 minutes with COLD water. He called

me back in 1 hour to check on me) He said I'd be in quite a bit of pain

for a couple of days.  Oh brother try going around blind for awhile!

That nite it had pus in it and had a film over it but ol stubborn me

STILL wouldn't go to the hospital cause in  a few days I wanted to

go to my granddaughters combined birthday party, so thought I'd

wait until morning and MAYBE go to a Dr. It didn't happen again, so YI

muddled thru it.  Finally graduated to dark glasses, finally my regular

glasses and the glare of the computer.  I was lucky and hope I didn't

do damage for the future.

In a few days was the combined 3 and 4 year old party for the girls

that we have every year at Chucky Cheese's pizza. I have to get the

camera developed, heck couldn't see the number of pictures I took,

some might be over another!

Yesterday I want down and got my blood pressure taken and

a prick for sugar diabetes.  My blood pressure is high and I think

I know why....teaching e-mail to a friend in the computer room

she has Juno and I try and try to figure out how to put things in

little files like my g-mail does. I'm also trying to figure out

how to print on-line grocery coupons.  Last nite my home

teacher got it all plugged in, ha now to get a new cartridge and

try to learn all over again after not using it for over a year.

B oy that saying "if you don't use it, you lose it" sure is right!

Weather here in UT. is one day (like today, in the 30' ) Smile Friday

in the 60's...last week 4" of snow.  We'll be nice 2 more days then

another storm is coming.

Sandi, You are the first and only person I've ever known of who'd knowingly risk spending the rest of their life blind or mostly blind if you only damaged one eye! At the same time I was living in fear of damage that going to the hosp or a doctor couldn't reduce! How I'd have loved to only risk missing one birthday party! I know I'm phobic but how....?
