Here is a memory of Billy....He was always the luckiest kid. He was in T-ball & we were at the year end picnic - of course you always buy raffle tickets. After we bought our tickets he just kind of hung around & really didn't go off & play with the other kids - he had his raffle tickets clutched in his little hand. I finally asked him why he wasn't playing & he said he wanted to be sure to hear his number when it was called - he was going to win the video game system & you know what he did!!! The next year once again he won one of the top prizes. When he was in grade school I am sure the rest of the kids were so happy when he finally graduated - that way someone else would at least have a chance to win the "guess how many pieces of candy are in the jar." He won every year - by 8th grade they were just going to give him the candy but had the contest anyway & of course he won!!! It just seemed like anytime Billy entered a contest he would win something. The Cystic Fibrosis Foudation of Chicago had a gathereing with Boomer Esiason(sp?) giving a talk - he has a son with CF. Boomer autographed 6 footballs to be given away. He would ask questions & who ever knew the answer would get a football - it seemed like the dad were getting the footballs until Boomer asked what his real name was - Billy's hand shot up & he won a football. Dan & Chuck , Dan's friend who had a son Billy's age - the 4 of them would always do stuff together & the boys were not aloud to tell the mom's what they did when they were all together - always told Billy they would take him to Vegas for his 21st b'day, went to Vegas - but obviously Billy wasn't watching them too closly or sending any of his luck their way - no big winner...
Thanks for letting me share this memory of Billy...would love to read some of yours .... A HUGE thank you goes out to biowoman (Karen) for coming up with this wonderful idea....
Hugs, Ann

Ann,
I always like to read about our kids. Billy was obviously very special and God's light shone on him. You were blessed . I remember you talking about his friends going to Vegas but did not realize their "unlucky" with lady luck :-). Hugs, Inga

It is nice to get to know a little about each others children. Thanks for sharing. He sounds like he had a good time with his life. Winning anything has always alooted me but good for him. :) I buy raffle tickets from almost every kid selling them as we sell so much stuff with our hockey team I feel I should.Never win, but I support the kids and sports.....
