Holiday blues. Thanksgiving is coming up. I would love to be able to cook for a few people and have some feel of family …
Hi friends,
Its hard to believe that just a few months ago I was sitting at home with no job, nothing to do, and no money coming in. Man how things have changed in the last 9 weeks! Of course I still don't have a ton of money coming in but some is better than none! :) Yesterday was fast and furious. Of couse I went to work early, walked, worked, and left at 5:30 to go to the wedding cake sampling. That was fun. The baker brought 2 different kinds for the grooms cake, (red velvet and molten chocolate) and 3 different kinds for the bride's cake (plain white, almond, and white chocolate). Then she brought 2 different fillings to try (strawberry and cream cheese) and butter cream frosting. I have to tell you that it was a tough choice because everything was very good. In the end Lauren choese the almond cake with cream cheese filling and buttercream frosting and Matt chose the molten chocolate with buttercream frosting. Lauren's cake will be 4 squared tiers with scroll work and silk gerber daisies to match their bouquets. Matt's cake will be the Double T logo of Texas Tech where they both graduated from. I thought that was a great idea....of course I graduated from there too!
After the cake sampling was finished Lauren, Katie and I went to a greek restaurant to watch my 23 year old niece belly dance. By the time we got there all of the tables were full. We managed to squeeze in with my sister and her family but it was very crowded. I stayed to see Amber dance and then left at 9:30 without dinner. I was just too tired. Lauren and Katie stayed though and had a good time.
Today I'm working only till 11:30 and then I have to be out at the lake by 1:30 for Katie's graduation party. Between the 4 girls we are expecting 75-100 people so I'm sure I'll be doing lots of cooking hot dogs and hamburgers. The only plans I have for tonight is to collapse at home. The party lasts till 8 and then we have to clean up so I figure I'll be home around 9.
No news on the house at this point. I counted yesterday though and since April 1 it has shown 40 times. I'm probably going to drop the price again if I don't get an offer soon. I just want out of it and I'll still make a profit even if I drop it.
Well, gotta get started on the day.....

Wow!! I think it is great that you are seeing how quickly things can really turn around in a relatively short amount of time. Good for me to remember as well. so thanks! OMG the cakes sounded INCREDIBLE, yum! One of my weaknesses is cake.... You are really imporessing me with your commitment to waling every day before work, what a great way to start the day. The graduation party at the lake sounds like so much fun. I hope you enjoy every mninute of it! I also havve to say if you want your house to sell quicker you are smart to consider doing something different to get it sold. You have a beautiful house, someone is going to snap it up soon! Have a great day, Joanna.

Wow. You are one busy woman! That is so great that things are looking so up for you these days. Keep that mood and commitment up! I sort-of took this week "off" -- did no teaching, just transcription all week, haven't walked since Monday (since the dog cut herself up Tuesday night), haven't gone to the gym since Monday either. I'm doing lots of end-of-school-year stuff with my daughter, and dealing w/ the injured dog. Did OK with food, but allowed myself a maintenance instead of weight loss diet. Now I'm motivated by YOUR commitment, and ready to jump back on that wagon! Have a great weekend!!!!

Sounds to me like you are having a good time. I'm glad to hear that. You sure have come a long way since I met you on here. To heck with WW I would dive into the cake.
