I am currently living in Los Angeles and work for E! Entertainment Television. It is an amazing job and YES I see celebrities everyday, LOL. I just finished school and so happy I accomplished something that forwards me in life. I was just diagnosed with Lupus about a year ago, but I have had symptoms on and off for about 3 years. I am trying to cope with it as best as I can. I know I haven't had it as bad as some people but I do have my days where I think to myself, "Do I really have this disease?" My motto in life is to live life to the fullest and stay positive. That is all you can do. No matter what we try to control, it will happen if its going to happen. I have the best family in the world and supporting friends. I would like to have more communication with people who can really relate to me and my condition, which is why I am here.
Movies/TV, music, art, friends, family, decorating, the beach, going out, having fun in any way possible.

When I was a senior in highschool, I went on a certain birth control patch called Ortho Evra. Ever since I went on it I gained weight, felt horrible, was depressed, and negative all the time. I couldnt figure out what was wrong or why I had gained 20 lbs. I told my gyno and my family that something was wrong but no one really believed me. I know my body and something wasnt right. Finally after 3 years I stopped taking it. I found out a year later I had hypothyroidism.
A few months ago I had begun to apply for a job as a gymnastics coach and began to train for it. After a few days of doing the kalisthenics, I woke up sore, which i thought was normal. Everyday got worse and worse until I couldnt walk anymore. I had to brace myself to get out of bed because I was in so much pain. They did tons of tests on me and found out I have a mixed connective tissue disease, which is Lupus, RA, and some other diseases combined.
I am 23 years old and diagnosed about a year ago with Mixed Connective tissue disease. Its a combonation of Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, and some other things. It is one of the most painful things Ive ever been through. I thought I was the only 23 year old with it, but now I know I'm not. when I have flare ups, it is the lupus flaring up, but it hurts all through my tissues and joints.
Before any of my other sicknesses occured, the first sign was rainauds. I didnt know what was wrong, but tips of my fingers and toes would go numb in the cold. It got to a point that it hurt very badly, but no other symptoms ever occured. Then a few years later they found out I possibly had lupus or mixed connective tissue problem.
My name is Maggi, and they first diagnosed me with MCTD. I wasnt sure what it was, but then i figured out its pretty much a mixture of different diseases. Now I am told I mostly have lupus but i still have symptoms of some other antibodies that I have. It's no fun, but Its being controlled and im dealing with it.
