Question. . . Has anyone experienced diverticuitus as a result of scar tissue from a former operation? I saw my surgeon today and he mentioned my hysterectomy might have caused the scar tissue to my colon. The part I am not understanding is the implication that a lot of scar tissue can be prevented. My hysterectomy left massive amount of scar tissue.

I've never heard that, but I haven't had other abdominal surgeries. When my mom had her hysterectomy, her colon and uterus had fused together due to her fibroids and diver but that's the closest I've heard. I'm not sure I understand how the scar tissue from one could cause the diver. I could see how it could apply pressure or something, I guess. But to actually cause the diver, I thought that had to be pressure inside the colon.... hmmm...
