Thank you all for your support. Her surgery involves opening the bladder and creating a new, longer tunnel for the ureter to pass through the bladder wall at a better angle. We talked about risks and he said there is a chance of the usual like bleeding and infection but he has never had a kid that needed a blood transfusion or got an infected incision. That makes me feel better.

She is scared because my Dad passed away last year in the hospital. When she was in for her first kidney infection in March she was seriously sick. Her dad didn't take her in so when she got home a day and a half later she was already really sick. They ran blood cultures to make sure it hadn't spread in her system. She had 107.6 fever. Her test yesterday wasn't a pleasant one and she cried so hard no matter what we all to tried to do to calm her. This all has her a bit scared where hospitals are concerned. We try to make her understand that being in the hospital doesn't mean she will die just because Grandpa did. We remind her that both her older brother and I both had surgery and we are just fine.

I plan on having her ready for it and not so scared. I have to pull myself together for her. If she senses that I am scared that will just make hers worse. I will be strong for her.  I'll pick myself up and dust myself off, get a job and be positive. Life will march on as usual.  I will squash her fears.

She feels better tonight because we went to church and she felt good knowing that everyone was praying for her. It's a great group of very supportive people. It made me feel better too. She is reminded that God loves her and will take care of her.

Goodnight and Sweet Dreams

 Kisses

Awwww... poor kid. Sending warm soft Mojo for recovering from the unpleasant test.

That would be scary too, since hospital related things have not been good for all of you recently. And when a child is involved, they don't have the articulation arsenal to help us help them cope.

But still a good point, that all things hospital don't have bad outcomes.

    Hugs and more Mojo

I just caught up on all your journals, a lot happened since yesterday morning!! Hospitals and tests are always scary for kids, but it sounds like you are doing everything perfect for her. Your strength will definitely help her...you really are a great mom! I'll be thinking of her and your family! Oh and congrats on the interview, keep us posted, I can't wait to hear! How exciting! Take care and keep us posted!
