Guess what I did? I fractured the joint in my little toe yesterday. I was walking around the side of the bed when I smacked it into the stack of library books I had collected into a pile the night before. It smacked the book and pulled it back. It looked really bad because it stuck out to the left at a 45 degree angle. I had to drive myself to urgent care because Pervious was out of town with the kids at the dentist. I had no sock or shoe on when I got there and all I could do was cry the whole time I was in the waiting room. When it was my turn they took me right to the xray room. Sure enough I broke it. The doc asked if I wanted to numb it first or use some pain med shots which I knew hurts bad from experience so we did it without first. I'm sure everyone in the place could hear me yell. At least i didn't swear. I did grab his arm and dig in with my nails. It's a good thing he had a long sleeve shirt on. He got it most of the way back. We decided to numb it which hurt really badly and I yelled some more. He wanted to send me right to xray before the med wore off but they couldn't find the wheelchair so he gave me a piggy back ride....seriously. I laughed and so did everyone else but it got me there. The xray showed it almost back in place so he yanked some more until it looked pretty straight and back near my other toe. They got me a walking shoe and a prescription for vicodin and home I went. To get a jump on the pain I took a percocet that I had from before. When Pervious got home he took me out to the pharmacy to get my meds. The pain is catching up with me now. The xray is pretty impressive. I guess I do things all the way when I do them. I am an intake specialist at our Humane Society. My boss told me to stay home and put it up. I had today and I have tomorrow off so I have some time to heal before work on friday. We are only suppose to work a couple of hours Friday so we'll see. What a day...ugh. I have to go see an orthopedic doc in 2 weeks to see how it's healing. I am going to my regular doc because he is a family doc and a sports medicine doc plus his office has their own xray room. Wish my toe luck. : )
