I did not go to my nieces graduation. I knew today would be a big day for me so I choose to rest last night. Today I am going to my husbands home town to have a birthday/graduation party for our Son. So I get to deal with my in laws on joy. I went to visit his grandmother a couple of weeks ago and she wanted to know why I left and needed such a break last year. So how do I handle that, well grandmother let me tell you what your little sweet grandson did? Nope don't think so. So I stumbled over an answer and I didn't even believe it so don't think she did. I hope she just let's it die and not bring it up today. Today is about Jared and no one else. He deserves this day and I am bound and determine he is going to have it.
Hope you all have a blessed weekend
well, on how to handle that with the grandma - it's entirely your choice. I certainly wouldn't lie though, but maybe just state that it is something you don't want to discuss and move on to next subject. Aren't in-laws fun? I was blessed in that my in-laws were not an issue. Others are not so blessed. But you CAN have fun with it...hehehe or you can let the stress bring you down. More interesting to have some fun with the situation, especially if you have inlaws that try to tell you how to raise your kids. Example: mom-in-law tells you that you shouldn't let your son play with fire (I know he isn't) if he wants to at some point. So you get the deer in the headlight look and say in the sweetest and softest voice, complete look of innocence on your face...if you can use that NC or GA southern accent even better - and response ever so airily "why thank you ever so kindly for sharing that information with me, . How on earth could I ever have come to that conclusion without you!"
Hehehe - like I said, have fun with it and visits with in-laws take a whole new perspective.

Today is a celebration if she asks you anything just keep the subject on him and what he is done...and how proud you all are of him.
