Oh, I went and worked with my dog training client, this is his second service dog so he's familiar with training his own dog. The difference is that the last one was trained using a choke collar, the methods where I volunteer are drastically different and based on a praise/reward system. The only thing they condone physical correction for is the 'leave it' command and then only is necessary until the dog figures out what the word means. They figure it out pretty quickly though and we haven't had any dogs that didn't really. He didn't do any physical correction at all today, followed the commands in the right order: Dogs name, command, praise, release, almost every time! Kudos to him!
