I'm trying to stay positive but that craving kicks in and out I go to buy cigs. I only bought 2 packs this …
Ok it's been 31 days since I started to quit smoking w/Chantix.
I am totally not an angel or a poster-child for the company that manufactures the drug... but I will say that I've gone down to a height of 2 packs per day, down to no more than 3 cigs a day for the last 31 days.
The three I have actually taste awful and I hope that number dwindles fast.
I appreciate all of you who have send messages and replied to my journals... support is of the most importance on a trip like this.
I love you all and when I'm not bitchy and moany ... I promise to post more LOL.

I've got a box of Chantix sitting on the table -- looking at me. I take my first dose tomorrow morning. We can do it!!!!

I have tried to quit so many times and each and every time I give back in. My doc said he would prescribe Chantix for me but....I reckon it won't help cuz my biggest obstacle is my MIND. One of these days I will control my mind and convince it smoking is not something I DO anymore. One of these days.
Keep up the good fight. I want you to WIN!
BE WELL.

Actually, I wanted to mention that the reason I joined DS was to get support for my smoking addiction. Later, I joined the other groups and now I never even bother to look at the smoking addiction boards. I'm such an addict!

Thanks Siski and good luck to you, I'll keep checking on you LOL
I want to win too. My doctor told me that finally "wanting" to quit would probably help me tons, as I've never tried to quit before. My reason this time was my kids. Should have done it a long time ago.
I had one this morning and no more since. It was right before an angiogram I was having, so i was a bit on edge, but that's not a good excuse.
Anyways, no hopes for any now, as that was my last one LOL. Thanks for the well wishes.
When you are ready Mischif... try Chantix then. You'll have the best chance at success at that point I think :)
Thanks everyone :)

I know what you are going thru.
I gave them up (sigh) almost 3 years ago, and it was HE77.
In the end, the only thing that keeps me smoke free is not wanting to go thru the HE77 again, and I got freaked out from having to lie to the Drs.
I told them I quit 10 years ago, when it was not true. The main reason I quit was because I have a femoral blockage and smoking causes the aretries to narrow even more.
I just want to tell you that the only way to stop is to stop. Any meds you take may help you for a while, but one day after the meds are gone, you will want a ciggie so badly, and the only thing that will stop you, is you saying no.
I am not trying to discourage you, on the contrary, but I want to give you the truth as I experienced it, If I could do it, any one can.
And, I still complain a lot, but I am not smoking.
GOOD LUCK, it is a tough battle, but doable.
