I am a single mom with 5 children, four of which have disabilities mostly on the autistic spectrum. I work full time (at least I try to).
Interests
If I ever get a few free minutes (not too often these days) I like to bike ride, hike and garden. Reading is my lifeline to sanity!

Close Epilepsy & Seizures
My 15 year old high functioning autistic daughter started to have seizures this year (2007). We did not know about them until she had a tonic-clonic seziure on the school bus which was fortunately captured on video.MRI normal, EEG shows abnormal spiking in the temporal area. Diagnosis from neurologist is epilepsy. Cause unknown. Hypothosis is from the autism. Current research is showing that 1/4 to 1/3 of austic children develop seizure disorder in adolesence.

I have two children on the autistic spectrum: one of my son's is 18 years old and diagnosed as Asperger's and one of my daughters is 15 years old and is high a functioning autistic who recently started to have seizures.
