Thursday....I am tired. We had a situation go down in our neighborhood last night that freaked the kids out and …
Talk about a panic attack!
Last night would have sent anyone off! I was in the den, all tucked in for the night, chatting online with one of dear friends at DS. We were laughing and cutting up as usual, nothing out of the ordinary. It had been a wonderful evening when all of a sudden, I heard this roaring sound coming closer and closer. Almost like a plane or helicopter was getting ready to make a landing on the house. Out of the window I kept seeing this bright light go by the window. I got up thinking WTF!!!! Peeped out the window and saw police cars both marked and unmarked up and down both streets (the house sits on a corner) all with spotlights on and this loud noise overhead.
Now mind you, I live in a very quiet neighborhood. People around here have owned their homes for years….a school and two churches nearby. Not much happens around here.
Anyway…I jumped up and ran to the front door with my Rottie by my side…he’d been throwing a fit, knowing something was wrong. Didn’t remember I was half-dressed at the time and opened the front door to see what was going on. There was a helicopter right over the house, so low, I could have reached up and given him a cup of coffee! They had this huge spotlight than they were shining all around our block area. I raised my arms and said WTF are you doing? Looked down and saw a patrol car stop in front. Did the same thing to him. He got out of his squad car and kept pointing to me, saying get back in the house! That’s when I realized I only had a T-shirt on….went and grabbed my robe as the officer was walking up to porch. By sheer luck, I knew this cop…he lives in our neighborhood.
I again said, what the hell is happening? My neighbor next door ( a tiny elderly lady) was walking over to us, he told her the same thing, to get in her house and lock the door. Apparently, two block down from me, some punk ass MF had broken into another eldery lady’s house, sexually assaulted her and robbed her. Asked if I had seen anyone, since others they had asked said they had seen someone running down our way. Lovely, I said as I rolled my eyes up to my forehead. I told him no and he said tostay inside and keep all doors locked, the punk was armed. They searched our neighborhood for over three hours, needless to say I couldn‘t sleep! Helicopter kept going back and forth over the neighborhood and it was quite loud!!! Police cars parked at every corner as far as I could see.
FINALLY, they pulled out the helicopter and I just went to bed. Being exhausted I went out like a light. I don’t know what happened, but sometime later I woke up in a sweat and sheer terror! Full blown panic attack!!!! Hadn’t had one of those that sever in a long while! Knowing what the cause was, I was able to use my grounding tools and calmed myself down. WHAT A NIGHT!!!!

This is one of those life lessons that you need to learn on your own.. There was a man living in a house …
Good morning all, yesurday was a better day. A lot of pain however, I was not able to do the smallest …
That was quite a night for you, don't think I'd have slept well after hearing that. At least you had your rottie to look after you, they're real good at doing that. I take mine out whenever I go to an ATM because the nearest one to me is really well tucked away near a dodgy housing estate.
The last place I lived the sound of sirens was a daily occurance, it was known as the 'Bransholme Lullaby', seemed too quiet without them.
