About Me
Me....I had a stroke in 1999. I've been trying to recover and take care of my family at the same time. It's not an easy task. I have good days and bad. I go from life sucks to life is great because I'm still here to enjoy it. I have two children. My daughter got married in Nov.'06. She married a good guy. That was one of the hardest days of my life. She moved 12 hours away. My son is 17 and in the 12th grade. He's a very handsome kid. I have a terrific husband who does everything he can to deal with my highs and lows, ups and downs.
Interests
My interest is my family. I really try to do my best to take care of them.

I’m With You
I know what you mean.. if it is not one thing it is another.. i just get one issue dealt with another one comes about.. and the bathroom still needs renovated. The old metal tub needs to be replaced... but the health issues are for front most days. Mercy and grace OH LORD help! Mean while i have started painting again. hugs and hugs for your day and week to be so much better!

Close Stroke
My name is Vicky. I'm 44 and had a stroke almost 9 years ago. It was a hemorrhagic stroke. I went from being on the computer to being in the hospital. It's funny, I knew what happened. I believe I heard everything while I was in the coma. The stroke affected my right side.
Treatments
- Baclofen Working / Worked
- Given to me for the spasticity on my right side from my stroke. It seems to work alright. I don't take it as often as I should.
Close Aneurysms
I had an aneurysm that ruptured in Sept.'99. I was 36 at the time. It caused a stroke. The aneurysm was located at the base of the brain or as my husband describes it, "a deep brain hemorrhage". It affected alot of things. Some things cleared up, some things didn't. But I'm still here.
Open Alzheimer's Disease
My mother-in-law has AD or dementia. This is a totally new experience for me, never dealt with it before. She's 77 and refuses to let us help her in ANY way. We don't know what to do next. Do we force the issue or let it play out? We don't know.

Open Endometriosis
In Sept. '98, I had a laparoscopy where the dr. removed a ovarian cyst the size of a baseball and discovered I had extensive endometriosis. He removed what he could. 10 years later.....I think it's back.

- Laser Surgery Working / Worked
- The surgery was to remove a cyst. While in there, the dr. discovered extensive endometriosis. He removed what he could.
Open Dementia
I'm trying to figure this out with my MIL.....alzheimers or dementia. We cannot get her to go to the doctor or cooperate at all. So I'm trying to gather information to handle it the best way I can.
