went to new doc today that supposedly specializes in Fibro.. Well they did address my pain issues and depressions issues. She gave me Tramadol (which I have never heard of) and cymbalta. Looked at my films of my back and wants to try more injections above my surgical site. As far as the chronic pain and fatigue well the doc doesnt really believe in FM or CFS which shocked my. Basically the Doc believes the pain and fatigue are real, but in most cases she believes there are underlying conditions or issues. Her advice to me was she would treat my pain and I should see an internal medicine doc for a comprehensive work up on everything... Lyme's disease, infectious causes, emotional issues, etc. I am willing to try. I started the tramadol and cymbalta this morning. Havent really noticed much change just alittle sleepy pain about same. I know cymbalta takes awhile to be effective and dont know much about tramadol. Praying for some relief.
I tried Cymbalta.....didn't do a thing for the pain. I think that is mostly for depression. Though everybodies body is different. Yeah, the dr. has to rule out other diseases, but you need a dr. who BELEIVES in Fibromyalgia!! Or you have to educate them yourself by bringing in good print outs off sites on the internet. It's so amazing to me that so many dr. are still so ignorant about this REAL condition!!! Go on the disscussion board here & you will find out so much & have any lingering questions answered. These people on here are very well educated about FM. Some of them take Tramadol. I think Vicoden works the best for me & many others. I'll keep you in my prayers.

oops, I had to add my big mouth here....am i following you, LuLu?
Tramadol (I take) and is NON NARCOTIC...eat 'em like candy..it helps me thru the day, so I am not drowsy.
Also Cymbalta too but man, it's exspensive...$$$
But helps me too..
Good luck for whatever my 2 cents are worth and that ain't worth much!

I'm sorry, it was Celebrex that I tried NOT Cymbalta.....so give it time, it might work for you.
