Margaret, I used a nebulizer for about 4 and a half years, and when I first started, it was the only thing that would work for me. It was a Godsend. But after the exacerbation I had last Fall and Winter, I think my overall emphysema condition declined, so that I am probably a C02 retainer. We couldn't figure out what was wring, I had all kinds of lung scans and heart tests, he sent me to a specialist in Milwaukee, and everything. We were all about to give up, when I kind of mentioned in passing that it seems to take me a long time to recover from using my neb. That's when the light bulb went off in my pulmonologist's brain. He said, let's try going without it for a few weeks. He gave me all the same meds in inhaler form. I take Spiriva, Foradil, Pulmicort and Albuterol. After about 2 or 3 weeks, I called his office, to say that I felt like I had spent the past weeks "deflating." I was doing so much better. And that was finally when I was able to start increasing my walking. Have your doctor make sure you're on all the same meds in inhaler form, and if you want, give it a try for a few weeks. You can always go back. I still have my nebulizer, but it's packed away for now. It's so nice not to be spending several hours a day sucking on my "electric hookah!" Let me know what you decide, and how it goes! And have a great weekend. Love you! Sue

Hi Margaret, it's a little early for snow, but we probably have snow on the ground for about half of the Thanksgivings. Yum! Chili sounds terrific! Yes, I'll put an extra quilt on the bed and snuggle down. Have a good week! Hugs, Sue

No sun this weekend. But the soup sure sounds good. Maybe I'll make some for Sunday supper. We might have a dusty of snow, too. Winter's almost here, up in the northland. Hope you are feeling good and having a great weekend. Hugs, Sue
