Close Psoriasis
Affected Areas: Psoriasis of the SkinPsoriasis reared it's ugly head on my elbows when I was 14 years old. It spread to my legs, my scalp, my ears, and many other unpleasant places. When I was 18 I met my husband online and did not know that he too had psoriasis, but oh what a blessing! He truly does understand what I go through every day and I only have a little taste of the pain he goes through considering his affects 90% of his body.
Treatments
- Coal Tar Not Working
- The tar was actually painful to use on my scalp and skin. It burned.
- Dovonex Somewhat Helpful
- Dovonex is greasy, but it did seem to help the patches on my arms. It is EXPENSIVE!
- Hydrocortisone Not Working
- Made me itch, but if this works for you it is inexpensive.
- Massage Somewhat Helpful
- Helps reduce my stress levels and improves my emotional outlook so that is always good.
- Phototherapy Somewhat Helpful
- This actually worked for me, but I cannot afford to continue treatments 3x per week at $40 a pop

Recently diagnosed. Getting ready to try Clomid. We'll see. Tried Prometrium, but it made me really dizzy the last time I used it. Hope I don't get so sick this time.

- Oral Contraceptives Working / Worked
- This worked for me in the past. I got pregnant when I switched from the pill to the patch because it kept my hormone levels in the right place.
