Neurologist visit Mood
Monday, April 14, 2008 | A General Update story

So I went to my new neuro today of course I had to work hard to get the copies of my MRIs to him but they arrived, they still continue to show active MS and the Avonex did nothing this past year, I have done better on nothing or just Copaxone in the past!   So the doctor wants to try using the Tysarbi on me I have thought it sounded like an idea that might might work good for me so after a month of no shots I will get started on the Tysarbi.  I have had good success with therapy lately and the neuro is thinking I could use a few visits from a chiropractor.  I am staying on the Topamax for now the fog is lifting the fatigue is still hanging and the neuro is considering Provigil for fatigue which was never and issue for me at all, and now he started the Vesicare for an overactive bladder( yegads I am not even 50 and condidering buying depends!) so far one pill and now accidents!  Think it will add time to my shopping routinue yehaw!  Then he just gave me LDN go ahead and try it and see how you like it!  I am very excited about how he wants to work with me and lets me direct my own care, if I would have said no more Topamax he would have said okay but are you sure?  He did respect not pressing increasing it since the migraines have slowed down some.  I do believe I am going on the SWANK Diet if I can find all the rules of it.   I know the no red meat and no dairy, those last two will be the hardest.  I forgot to ask him about if I could have an occasional cocktail of glass of wine.  I really do need one of those things.

Yes my heart is still broken and I do cry myself to sleep every night.  I am trying to take control again and go onward!!!

the wine is okay with the topamax..grin..i am on 200 mg a day and my epilepsy neuro okayed it with me..if that is your concern hon...as for the bladder issues hon.. i started using the pills at 39..sigh...but we do what we have to..grin...

good for you for the fatigue meds.... i started mine about 4 weeks ago now..i would rather give up the first born than give up the fatigue meds..grin....

as for the topamax...once your on the fatigue meds..and your body has become fully accostomed to the dose your on now... if you still have the migranes you may want to increase by 25 mg at a time...it will get rid of them..smile..i swear..grin..it also helps with the TN pain...double duty there..grin...

glad you had such a good day with the dr...

    hugs
