      From Stephano June 26

May be interesting to go into the children's books and see what we are feeding them. If they read a book rather than mess around on the computer. Being down is a feeling of choice. Feeling up is a matter of choice also.

    • Close Depression
      Type: Clinical (Major) Depression

I've been diagnosed with recurring major depression. Many bad things have happened to me, including childhood abuse, loss of country, loss of spouse, loss of health, loss of spiritual faith.

      Treatments

      Effexor Not Working
Not working any more. Needed to change because of heart complications.
      Paxil Somewhat Helpful
      Made me irritable.
      Positive Thinking Somewhat Helpful
      Sometimes the depression is overwhelming.
      Prozac Somewhat Helpful
An old prescription, can't remember why I switched. Possibly for insurance reasons.
      Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
In and out of therapy since 1979. Two hospitalizations, 2001 and 2008.
Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
In-Laws: "Snap out of it." Son: "Is it my fault?" Brother-in-Law: "Don't ask, don't tell." Sister-in-law: We talk on the phone every week. Biological Sister: "I don't want to talk about it."
      Trazodone Working / Worked
Took it for sleep for a little while.
      Wellbutrin Not Working
      Allergic - seizures.
      Writing Working / Worked
Writing my memoirs since being diagnosed with breast/uterine cancer in 2006.
      Zoloft Working / Worked
Good stuff. I take 300 mg a day, which I hear is a pretty massive dose.
      MSIR Working / Worked
Started this on 3508 for anxiety. Side effects for me are minimal dizziness dehydration.
    • Close Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

I'm a hoarder, have been for about 11 years since my husband died.

      Treatments

      Zoloft Working / Worked
Makes my mouth a little dry. As far as I can tell, it hasn't helped with my hoarding, but sure works for my depression.
