    I have been a clinical social worker for quite a few years. I believe in empowering people to learn, to learn to love, and to ‘become’, however this fits with their own beliefs. I am very close to my family of origin. I have never been part of an online support group of any kind, unless you count Catster.com, where my cats MacIntosh & Pixel have photos, diaries, and correspond with friends around the world.

      My father has vascular dementia. He is 88. My mother is determined to keep him @ home, & I support her. But this is very tough. He had surgery in 10/06 for a GI bleed (colon CA), & his dementia has been MUCH worse since. He doesn’t always know us, & doesn’t know much else. He was admitted to hospice today with end-stage dementia. I’m panicked about finances, behaviors, my mother’s health, & even my own needs for rest. I’ve had a whole series of “worst days of my life”. I’m hoping it gets better!
