Close Infertility
It took more than five years to become pregnant with my first daughter. She was conceived naturally after we had given up on fertility treatments. It took more than 2½ years to conceive with our second daughter (we decided to try treatments again with a new RE). We had success with the first IUI after a laparoscopic surgery to remove endometriosis. We are so thankful for our two precious daughters. We believe in miracles!
Treatments
- Artificial Insemination Working / Worked
- Our first two IUIs didn't work (no meds). The second two didn't work because of endometriosis. The fifth worked after a laparoscopy! Yippee!
- Basal Thermometer Not Working
- I hated using it. I went to Finland one summer (it is light all night) & had to get up to pee & took my temperature first...my husband woke up when he heard the beeping of the thermometer & asked me what I was doing...it was 3 in the morning! Anyway, I stopped using the BT after awhile & relied on OPK & checking for fertile mucus instead.
- Clomid Working / Worked
- I took Clomid for two months with a month of suppression (birth control) in between. No success. After a laparoscopy, we tried again (50 mg dosage) & it worked!
- Folic Acid Working / Worked
- I've been trying to conceive basically the entire time I've been married (minus the 18 months I was actually pregnant, of course), so I've been on prenatal vitamins forever.
- HSG (Hysterosalpingography) Working / Worked
- My first HSG was painful, & I think it was done incorrectly. The second HSG was much better & all was clear.
- Laparoscopic Surgery Working / Worked
- I had class 3 endometriosis. I truly believe if I hadn't had the surgery, I wouldn't have become pregnant with my second daughter so quickly.
- Love Working / Worked
- My daughters are worth all the years of tears and heartache. I am thankful that they have each other--that they both have the chance to be a sister.
- Ovulation Predictor Kit Working / Worked
- I've used so many...I could have built a house out of OPK sticks...which the big bad wolf (AF) blew down many times.
- Prayer Working / Worked

Open Pregnancy After Loss/Infertility
I became pregnant with my daughter after over five years of trying. After about 2½ years of trying for our second child, we finally were pregnant again! I was so excited.
