Bob seemed a bit better to me this afternoon. Maybe he will get stabilized again. There is one option that is really bad if he doesn't. I found out today that the state run facility that takes the really difficult cases costs $450 per day! Unless the patient is on medicaid it is all out of pocket.
Bob’s medications are still being adjusted daily so there is still hope that he will be able to go back to the nursing home. He has been so psychotic lately I don't think I could find a home health care agency willing to take him as a client even if I wanted to bring him home.
I went to a support group meeting tonight at another long term care facility and there is a chance I could get Bob into their locked memory unit. It is skilled nursing instead of assisted living like the home where Bob has been. I’m putting him on their waiting list. The rooms are all semi private and Bob will be the only male on the waiting list. All I can do is wait and see.
