Close Dementia
My 80 yo MIL has vascular dementia. She lives in an adult family home and has had a rapid decline in cognitive ability in the past year. She has lost her words mostly. And this is very hard for her as she was very proud of her vocabulary. Sometimes, she's still "her" and sometimes not. Physically, they say she is strong, but her mind cannot adequately control her muscles and walking has become very difficult.
