I'm at work today , of course, and this is the first day back to work since the tornado wiped out the town of Greensburg, Kansas, which is 100 miles away. I feel really grateful that Wichita didn't get hit, but I feel so very very terrible for the residents of Greensburg. I know that tornadoes are a way of life here in the midwest, but seeing all that devastation on t.v. and in the paper, just breaks my heart. I've been involved in several tornadoes in my life, and have had a lot of property destroyed, but have found out that "stuff" is replaceable, but people and animals arent. I am quite the kritter lover and it was very hard for me to sit still this weekend and not go rescue the towns animals. Lots of people from Wichita did go to Greensburg to help them with various things. It's nice to know that we all still come together when a tragedy strikes. Our weather is still freaky today, just as it was all weekend. Back to work now...........

OMG I really coulnd't live in a place where Tornados are a way of life.
Thanks for putting my mind at ease re: Sharon.
I know she's finished with treatment, and maybe just taking a break from the site, but it does seem a little strange not having her around like she's usual is.
Thanks again, sweetie, and thank you for thinking of the animals left behind in the town of Greensburg.
I love animals, we have all kinds here at the farm, and once Richard was travelling in a side road on his fourwheeler and found a family of kittens with the mum, they had been dumped there, so he brought them all home with him.
We have so many cats, that I don't even know the number of them.
They live in the buildings on our grounds, we have a hobby farm, so believe me they are all well.
    later....
oh yea, if you hear anything about sharon, please ask her to contact me.

Last spring here in Missouri my parent's farm was hit. They lost a 100 year old barn that was put together the old way with Pegs. Lost their garage and the roof on the house. So much devistation and so much clean up. They are really fortunate several neighbors lost everything and one neighbor lost his life.

We all need to do whatever little bit we can to help the people there. I'm not sure what it will be, maybe a donation to the Red Cross. But I'll remember them in my prayes too.
Glad you are safe. Plese stay that way.

My town was hit by a tornado 4 yrs ago, it was the most terrifying thing that has ever happened to me. My daughter , 5yr old grandaughter ,myself,and3 dogs sat in a closet as it came over the top of my house. Horrible, we were not hurt, lost alot of trees,a barn, but thats the way in Missouri. So glad you are fine, and feel so sorry for the people of Greensburg. They are midwesterners, so they are tough, and will pull together. Wish I could help in some way.
