Journal Entry for August 27, 2008 Mood

So my last days at that old shitty job are finally over. My last day was supposed to be Saturday but I went out for drinks on Friday and by the end of the night I was in no mood to show up the next morning. My old supervisor actually had the gall to call me and ask me why I didn't show up and I just flat out told him "Cause I didn't feel like it". The Academy doesn't start until Sept. 2nd so I have a bunch of time to kill. All I've been doing is watching movies and playing videogames in my pajamas, and let me tell you after working 12 hour days for the past few months it feels damn good not to be doing anything at all. I know I am gonna have to buckle down once the Academy starts but that isn't until another week, so right now I'm just living it up.

I think it's great that you are living it up until the academy starts. Also, congrats on your "be more outgoing" goal. Anything to report on the spirituality front?? I hope you are still going to church. It's a great place to meet people, especially if you find a friendly church with lots of bible studies, small groups, etc. Stuff that happens before or after the regular sermon. I find bible studies very fun and informational, since I don't spend much time reading the Word on my own. Please keep me posted!

I took the physical agility test yesterday and I passed so I will be going to the Fire Academy on Sept. 2. I'm so excited, now I get to stick it to those asswipes at work. I feel like I am opening a new chapter in my life, hopefully I will be closing some old dreary ones too. Anyways, a big thanks to those who have been rooting for me all throughout the process, it really means a lot to me. God bless.

Praise God!!!! I knew you could do it! Congratulations and I wish I could be there when you tell those assholes to stick it! Maybe you should have a party at the new apartment? You could have Near Beer so everyone doesn't get sloppy druck and trash your place. Wouldn't it be funny if you served Near Beer, but hid it from everyone. I bet half the people there would act drunk out of habit. What do you think of this idea??

Journal Entry for August 6, 2008 Mood
Wednesday, August 6, 2008

Well my birthday is today but I don't really give a shit. I promised myself I would celebrate it but I'm not in the mood. I got about a handful of birthday wishes from aquaintances and people I've lost touch with through my Myspace account and none at all from my "close"friends...

I'm not really mad at the fact that I got no response from them, I just get really pissed at how whenever is THEIR birthdays they announce it to the whole freaking world, give out hundreds of invites to some party they are throwing and expect to be showered with gifts and compliments like they're some kind of rock star celebrities. People act self-centered nowadays and trying to figure them out is just too mentally exhausting for me. If I could somehow trek to Alaska and live out in the wild with nothing but snakes and squirrels to keep me company I honestly would.

Happy birthday, friend. Thirty is a wonderful age, even if you don't think so now. You change incredibly during your twenties. Now, you can settle into yourself. You're 'grown'. Marriage and kids will be next for you. Once you start your new job and wear that fireman's uniform, women will be throwing themselves at you. Mark my words! I can't resist a man in uniform, myself.
