      My first manic episode was at the age of 13. Over the last 3 years, I have been relieved from depression significantly. My mania however has gotten stronger and requiring more med, yoga has helped. I can be full-blown if I am not on an adequate dose. Very predictable annual timing lasting 4-5 mos every year.

      Treatments

      Depakote Somewhat Helpful
      Taken at a young age in which I only took it when things got bad. As I remember though, made me sick too.
      Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Working / Worked
      My teens and most of twenties full of behavioral therapy. Only works if you work hard at it. One thought at a time.
      Fish Oil Considering
      Just started hearing more about this.
      Group Therapy Working / Worked
      I spent 5 years in 12 step programs that did
      Lamictal Working / Worked
      After 3 years, most if not all signs of depression removed - even crashing is easier. Changed my life.
      Lithium Working / Worked
      Old-fashion and still works on me, but I'm concerned about my health short/long term as dosage increases.
      Yoga Working / Worked
      One night I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. I dig 4 yoga positions and became to calm down. I still needed sedative but yoga has saved me a few times.
