About Me
Hello! I am single with fibromyalgia , thyroid cancer depression and some heart problems. I love music (any kind), love to watch movies, love to read about skin care and cosmetics and try to keep up with new treatments for Fibro.
Interests
I used to be very active so I have had to change a lot of interests. I love any kind of music. I have became addicted to computer games since I spend so much time alone. I love current affairs and any articles on health or cosmetics. I love to walk and travel when I feel well. I love to watch movies, both at home and at the theatre.

I am new here and was reading about you. You sound so sweet and caring. I wish I had an answer to your family problems. (:I have one like that also:) Some day maybe there will be a magic pill to give to our families so they will understand. I too have fibromyalgia, survived cancer twice and lost a son 18 years ago Nov. 13. I have found my faith bringing me back to some sanity.

Close Fibromyalgia
I am a 53 year old divorced woman who was diagnosed in 1993 with Fibro. I have major fatigue, insomnia and my memory well...it is not good at all! I am glad I found this site. Please feel free to write. I am alone a lot of the time.
Treatments
- Effexor Not Working
- Elavil Not Working
- Effexor Not Working
- Did not help with the depression.
- Provigil Working / Worked
- This seems to help give me some energy but I have heard some things that scare me about it. My insurance will not cover it also and it is very expensive.
- Magnesium Working / Worked
- I am just starting to use it but it definitely helps with the IBS.
- Support from Friends & Family Considering
- I do not have any family support and most of my friends do not beleive me. I wish there was more I could do to let them know how much their support would help.
- Lamictal Working / Worked
- I have been taking Lamactil for about a year now. I can definitely say, though I still have some down times, I do not get nearly as depressed as before. I am taking 150 mg along with 300 Mg of Wellbutrin XL. I have been on almost every other antidepressant and this is definitely the best combo yet. Hope it might help you!!

Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionHI EVERYONE. I HAVE HAD DEPRESSION OFF AND ON SINCE THE MIDDLE 80'S. I HAD THYROID CANCER AND HAD THE TOTAL GLAND REMOVED WHEN I WAS 23 AND THAT IN ITSELF CAN CAUSE ANXIETY/DEPRESSION. I HAD MY OVARIES REMOVED AT AGE 32 SO MY HORMONES ARE WACKO AND THAT CONTRIBUTES TO IT AND THEN THROW IN MY FIBROMYALGIA AND MY GENETIC DISPOSITION (MOM) AND I GUESS I QUALIFY FOR THIS GROUP, YOU THINK???lol I ONLY JOKE AT TIMES TO KEEP FROM CRYING. I KNOW IF YOU ARE HERE YOU DESERVE A HUG AND A PRAYER.

- IT HELPS SOME BUT I AM DIVORCED AND ON DISABILITY AND UNFORTUNATELY MONEY PLAYS A BIG PART IN MY LIFE.
- Paxil Not Working
- MADE ME GAIN WEIGHT AND FEEL MORE TIRED THAN I ALREADY FELT.
- Wellbutrin Somewhat Helpful
- OF ALL THE ANTIDEPRESSANTS I HAVE TRIED THIS HAS THE LEAST SIDE EFFECTS AND SEEMS TO HELP BETTER THAN OTHERS. I STILL HAVE DEPRESSION, AT LEAST SOME AND SOME DAYS WORSE.

- THIS ADDED TO MY WELLBUTRIN XL SEEMS TO HELP BETTER THAN OTHER TREATMENTS BUT I STILL HAVE THE INSOMNIA AND LACK OF ENERGY FOME TIMES.
- Clonazepam Working / Worked
- HELPED WITH ANXIETY BUT I HAVE BUILT UP A TOLERENCE TO IT AND I TAKE IT ONLY 2 MG AT BEDTIME(DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK MOST TIMES)
- BuSpar Working / Worked
- i TOOK THIS ONE DAY AND FELT I WAS CRAWLING OUT OF MY SKIN. I THOUGHT I WS GOING CRAZY I WAS SO ANXIOUS AND SCARED.
Open Hypothyroidism
I found I had 2 nodules on my thyroid at age 34. The Doctor assured me at my age there was nothing to worry about. Two days later I found out I had Throid cancer and had to have the total gland removed. I guess there are only around 1,000 cases of thyroid cancer a year so it is rare and not none that mudh about. I had no idea how much that gland does until they removed mine. I am on synthoid for life. I also have Fibromyalgia and am in their community as LuFoggy. Love to hear from others.

Open Thyroid Cancer
Type: Medullary CarcinomaHello. I noticed 2 small nodules in my neck at age 23. The Dr. assured me 99.% that at my age it would not be malignant.Unfortunately I had to have a total thyroidectomy medullary/papillary features. NOW AT 53 &on Synthroid. I was diagnosed around 1995 with Fibromyalgia. My page is under LuFoggy in the Fibromyalgia Community. I have had no one to talk to about how I feel.
