Life has been so crazy of late and it seems I can't get anything done. I'm trying to think about Christmas shopping and having Thanksgiving at our house plus getting something to sleep on for Hon and I at daughter's new apartment. Christmas shopping is a bit (???) stressful for me this year as I just know from last Friday's outing with Karen that there is no way I can walk the malls and deal with the crowds. If it can't be bought online, it's not being bought.
We did buy for Beth (daughter) and JW and Sarah (son and daughter-in-law) a goat and a pig from Heifer International. I hope they aren't disappointed and will think it's a cool gift. We will buy them a few small things just to have something to open under the tree. Still not sure if Jason (son who lives in Prague) is coming home for Christmas. He is ending his current job on 12/31 (piss poor planning on his part!) so he is supposed to get back to us this weekend with an answer.
We met with Beth yesterday and shopped at a large furniture store for a pull-out couch for her apartment. We all disliked them as they were not comfy to sit on nor comfy to lie on. We trusted two salespoeple (not sure the owners of the furniture store would like to have heard their advice) who told us to get a really good blow up mattress. One with a bottom and a top. Good grief, off we went to Linens and Things. We were all shocked at the price of them but bought the best we could find. Although pricey, it was about a $1,000 less than a sleeper couch. What a deal! I sure hope it is as comfy as people say.
To those of you who have sent hugs, thank you, thank you. I am very much appreciative of them, and I have read all your posts and journal entries. My hands have been so bad of late that I can hardly hold a tea cup never mind type. They are somewhat better today thankfully. The itch on my arms has been terrible and I'm seeing a new dermotologist in 2 weeks. I have had this for 3 years off and on and not one of my neurologists or former dermotologist believes that it is MS related. I think they are full of crap. I have used tube after tube of every cream and lotion from under the counter and over the counter. Nothing works! grrrr ....
I desperately need to get some laundry done while my hands still work.

You will LOVE the blow-up mattress! Yes, they really are that comfortable--I've camped with them many times. Get a blow dryer that blows cool air and they are inflated quickly (don't be naive thinking it can be blown up by mouth--trust me on this...).
Sorry to hear about your hands. We've had rain here today and my barameter hands knows that well (broke it a few years back in a bad bathroom fall if I never mentioned it). I too prefer the blow up mattress. After sleeping on one for a weekend I was convinced I wanted to trade in my sealy pillowtop....hubby squashed that idea since he weighs 260...I'm about 92. Sofa sleepers are for those who like torture.
I am dreading xmas shopping this year. Trying not to leave it for the week before xmas. I've picked up a few things, but not nearly enough.
I would love to get livestock for a gift. I've been trying to convince hubby for 3 years to allow me to get a flock of guinea hens, or at least chickens....NO WAY, he says. We'll see...LOL Be well. -Jen
